One of the ways I learn about (lots of stuff, but specific to this post) running is through podcasts. One of my favorites right now is Coach Jeff‘s The Running Podcast. It’s an entertaining show with many different guests and topics all within the universe of fitness, running and running nutrition. It’s also from Australia, so there’s a distinctly non-American feel, which is kind of nice.
In the latest handful of episodes, Coach Jeff has talked about his annual “event” Run for the Sun. Taking place in June, it’s a month-long celebration of running in the search for daylight…Or a month-long celebration of it. Remember, Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, so while we (in the US) will be knee deep in Spring and Summer, Coach Jeff is in the depths of Fall and Winter. Hence, the title “Run for the Sun”.
The only requirement is to run at least a mile (or 1.6 kilometers) where ever you are in the world, every day for the month of June.
I’m in. And you should be, too. Head over to to the Run for the Sun page and register. It’ll be a blast!
